The Magnificent Seven movie started McQueen’s popularity at the box office. Josh Randall the Bounty Hunter was one of them and got McQueen his co-starring role in The Magnificent Seven(1960). Steve McQueen was a box office heavyweight in the 1960s and 70s and played several memorable western characters. If you’ve never seen this TV Western, it is well worth the viewing. Randall was a bounty hunter with a conscience and was cool, when cool. His gimmick was a sawed off winchester lever action rifle as a side arm. McQueen wore the Josh Randall Cowboy Hat as the old west bounty hunter, Josh Randall. The series established a young Steve McQueen as an up and coming actor. Wanted Dead or Alive (1958-1961) debuted during these years. Featured films and TV were rife with western stories and plots.
